But not all designs have such outlined or accepted tales to them. Across Ireland you can view the Celtic crosses. These are a cross with a circle around the centre of the cross. One of the most well-liked tales connected to this is that St Patrick made this symbol to show that there might be peace between the Druid symbol of a circle and the Christian symbol of the cross .For different people the circle has different interpretations. To some it's the sun and the bringer of life, while to others it symbolizes continuity with no beginning and no end.

However , the symbolism is also linked with the cycle of the moon; waxing, waning and full moon. The last association is to maidenhood and represents the stages of feminimity; maiden, mum and crone.
